Soul Acoustic returns is March this year* with an all star line-up. Showcasing the freshest artists from the UK, performing stripped back and acoustic songs in an intimate setting across major cities for one night only.
The artists hit the road on Wednesday 25th March in Birmingham, as Hare and Hounds hosts opening night.
One of the most anticipated artists in the line up is HMD, a Hip-Hop/Rap artist, originally from Somalia, but lives in Greater Manchester.
HMD has been making music since he was a young boy, starting his passion in school.
“I must have been 7, my teacher taught me the basics of drumming and I caught the bug ever since.”
While this is the career he wants, he now realises that there is more he wants to be doing in the industry.
“I always knew it was something I would be doing, but the older I get the more I realise that all creative endeavours are fair game for me now.”
Like all musicians, HMD is a big fan of Michael Jackson, but he likes to keep his roots tied in with his music.
“Michael Jackson is THE inspiration. My roots in music have stuck with me as I come from a live music background covering Red Hot Chilli Peppers to The Beatles. Melody and magic are the pillars.”
On the back of his latest track, ‘Deen’ there is “more big energy music en route” for his fans. Describing his new music in two words, “dark and sexy!”
He says his favourite song to perform live is currently unreleased, “’Amazing’ is a favourite, super soulful and uplifting.”
"Work harder, no one cares."
HMD "shouts to Chunky" as he relays the best advice he has ever been given. He says that for people wanting to make it in this industry they need to "not look back, keep the lights on and love hard."
The rest of the Soul Acoustic line up includes Manga Saint Hilare, Cariss Auburn, Morgan Munroe and Ricardo Williams.
